GRAND VALLEY MUSIC RELIEF FUND
The Grand Valley Music Relief Fund was launched on June 20th and is accepting applications.
The application deadline is August 28th at 5PM MST.
ABOUT THE FUND
The Grand Valley Music Relief Fund is a collaborative effort across for profit, nonprofit and public sectors, with steering committee members from GJEP, Creative’s Landing, Downtown GJ and more.
On Thursday, July 30, 2020, at 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM MST, Creative’s Landing will host a concert (part virtual / part live stream) called Riff For Relief, to generate much-needed funds to help all those in the Grand Valley music industry affected by COVID-19.
The Grand Valley Music Relief Fund will provide grants of up to $500 to musicians who live in the Grand Valley to include De Beque, Palisade, Clifton, Orchard Mesa, Grand Junction, Fruita and Loma, whose incomes have been adversely affected due to the cancellation of concerts, events, classes, performances and other creative work.
Grants are made on a rolling basis until the Fund is depleted.
The Grand Valley Music Relief Fund prioritizes lower-income musicians and musicians who have no other source of income.
Grants are open to musicians who have lost more than 25% of their weekly income due to COVID-19 closures and who need assistance with basic expenses such as food, rent, medical costs and childcare.
These grants can be used for, but are not limited to:
1. Offsetting loss of income due to cancelled concerts, events and performances.
2. Offsetting loss of income for instructors who could not teach during this time because of cancelled classes and school closures.
1. Documentation of lost income (cancellation notices, or email documentation of cancellations or lost work) will be required upon submitting the application.
2. W9 for individuals / applicants will be required to disburse grant funds.
Funds will begin to be distributed the first week of September.
