Have you heard?!

WSSW is coming to a town near you

June 1-5, 2020!

Coming at you from Steamboat Springs, this is Kayleen Cohen, founder of Mtn. Dog Media and Communications Track Captain for West Slope Startup Week.

WSSW brings together small business owners, entrepreneurs, experts, programmers, and creators from all across the region to learn and exchange. Multiple days of workshops, presentations, panels, speakers, and extra curricular activities give participants ample opportunities to network with peers and specialists. It’s all about learning from each other, sharing expertise and experience, celebrating success stories, and celebrating the #WestSlopeBestSlope way of doing business.

Right in your backyard (Hometown Days June 1 -2, 2020)

WSSW kicks off with “Hometown Days.” Regional partners and locals, like yourself, will host their own Startup Week-themed events on Monday and Tuesday in towns up and down the slope, such as Steamboat, Vail, Breckenridge, Carbondale, Montrose, Gunnison, Telluride, and Durango. Host an event in your town or go attend one to get in the #WSSW spirit before you head to Grand Junction on Wednesday, June 3.

Let’s Get Together (in Grand Junction June 3-5,2020)

The regional gathering in Grand Junction will consist of an action-packed schedule of presentations, panels, workshops, and social events. And, that schedule is created by the community (that means YOU) who submit ideas for sessions/events for the program (application opens January 6, 2020). With activities running all day, participants can choose their own path and build their custom schedule using the scheduling app (Sched) leading up to the event. Daily activities are built around “Tracks” (themes) that cover the elements of the entrepreneurial and small business journey and the people you encounter along the way in the ecosystem. With 8 Tracks (Ag/Food, Capital, Communications, FUN!, Makers, People, Tech, and Toolbox), there is something for everyone.

Extra Curriculars (the FUN! stuff)

In classic Colorado fashion, WSSW also features a variety of social events such as happy hours, pitch events, coffee meetups, hikes, runs, bike rides, and camping under the FUN! Track. You’ll have time to sip beers with your peers at local Grand Junction breweries or grab coffee with your new networking connection downtown. Need to catch up on emails or take a quick work call? Head on over to base camp for free access to coworking space and wifi. Tired of sitting inside? We’ve got you covered with outdoor adventure time.

Making connections

This isn’t your typical “networking” event. It’s about connecting with your community, meeting your neighbors, and finding collaborators, new friends, and mentors. Our advice? Be yourself, be honest about your struggles and needs, be open to learning and accepting guidance, and be ready to give back and help out.

Everyone is welcome, and we welcome you to come as you are.
